The exhibition design speaks for itself

Partnerships with new clients always begin with a thorough needs assessment. This helps clarify the client’s goals, expectations, and stand requirements.

“I like to review the client’s wishes in more detail than the original request for proposal may reveal. In the end, everything hinges on how well we can create a stand plan and proposal that resonates with the client. Our designers are top experts and true chameleons. I admire how they remain inspired by different approaches and stay ahead of the curve,” Liivamäki-Koivisto says.

Even proven concepts can be improved

Norrhydro’s request for proposal was clear from the start, including goals, key messages, and budget. A 40-square-metre stand location had already been secured.

“The company started early – we received the request in September, and the project was confirmed in November. The plan was updated slightly in early spring, and the big day came in April,” Liivamäki-Koivisto recalls.

The situation was straightforward, as the company hoped for a layout similar in function to their previous Bauma appearance.

“Of course, the stand always evolves – especially when there’s a new supplier. Our proposal introduced a calmer space by adding visual privacy with wooden slats. The front area was reserved for product demos, while the side walls prominently featured Norrhydro’s high-efficiency system solutions, NorrDigi MCC and NorrDigi EMA, which the client wanted to highlight.”

An experienced client knows what they want

Norrhydro participates in international trade fairs about once a year, selecting a new partner for each event. They’ve exhibited at Bauma three times.

“We chose Messua as our partner for the 2025 fair because their stand design appealed to us and the pricing fit our budget. Their approach and consideration of the client immediately felt right,” says Marketing Manager Heidi Rantanen.

The feedback after the event was very positive:

“We received great comments from both our employees and stakeholders. The stand was impressive and functional. What truly exceeded expectations was how helpful the construction crew was during setup. When our goods arrived, their assistance in unloading and organising storage boxes was a huge help,” Rantanen adds.

Communication plays a key role

Liivamäki-Koivisto highlights the importance of communication in trade fair projects. A clear division of tasks and a well-defined schedule help keep the project on track. Rantanen agrees:

“The cooperation went smoothly from start to finish, and we always knew what was happening next. Questions were answered quickly, and trust remained strong throughout.”

At Messua, open and timely communication is the foundation of successful collaboration. Both parties need to know who does what – and when.

“Nothing should be assumed or taken for granted. We take this to heart: it’s our job to stay in control, guide the process, remind the client, and offer advice – even when the client is experienced. That helps everyone stay on schedule. With new clients especially, it’s crucial to have a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities, and a common goal,” Liivamäki-Koivisto sums up.
